This novel by Siobhan Vivian titled "The List" shows high school life in many girls perspectives and the expierences they endure. Every year at Washington High during homecoming a list is posted all around the school. Two girls are picked from each grade level . Each grade will have the prettiest girl but also the ugliest. This list means everything to Washington High so if you didnt make the cut this year your finding yourself trying to fit in with the newest popular person so youll find yourself in there shoes next year. The list narrows down 8 girls of the prettiest looks and the ugliest. Abby Warner was named the prettiest freshman and that leaves Danielle Demarco and the Ugliest. Now for the Juniors, Candace Kincaid is named the ugliest and Lauren Finn as the prettiest; for the Juniors, Sarah Singer was named the ugliest and Bridget Honeycutt and the prettiest, and last but not least Seniors, Jennifer Briggs was named the ugliest and Margo Gable the prettiest senior! These girls to everyone else may seem like there lifes have no struggles because they atleast made the list, but throughout this story they start to find themselves and learn to have more selfesteem and less judgments for themselves and also there peers surronding them, because it doesnt matter if your the prettiest or ugliest or even the captin of the cheerleading squad all that matters is that your you in the ending.
