Siobhan Vivian, in her novel "The list", points out you cant trust trust anyone, because anyone in high school can make false assumptions about you.
This theme clearly emerges in the beginning of " The List", " No one knows for sure who authors the list each year, or how the responsibility is passed along, but secrecy has not impeded the tradition, if anything the guaranteed anonymity makes the judgement's of the list appear more absolute, impartial, unbiased". This quote gives you a sense on how the list could be made by anyone, even someone you thought you could trust.
Siobhan Vivian in her novel "The List", clearly shows that popularity overcomes the best in what people have to bring in high school, when you enter high school you feel as though you may not have a care in the world and once you actually endure what its like you feel as though you have one thing overtaking taken your thoughts each day, popularity.
This theme clearly emerges when the list is posted all around Mount Washington,"
With every new list, the labels that normally slice and dice the girls of Mount Washington High into a billion different distinctions of- poseurs, popular's, users, losers, social climbers, bad girls, girly girls, prudes, slackers, geeks and freaks, this list is refreshing it can reduce an entire female population down to three clear cut groups the prettiest, ugliest, and everyone else. This list makes every girl that attends Mount Washington all fight over who's the best out of everyone there.

This picture goes along with the theme; popularity overcomes the best in what people haft to
bring in high school. This picture shows the popularity pyramid in high school, and how
everyone gets divided into groupings, my theme relates to this picture because
you can see that popularity is overruling at the top- and all other groupings are fighting to reach
the top of the pyramid instead of being stuck at
the bottom.

less you say about someone or someone else you wont find your self fighting to reach the top. Secrecy
is the main thing at Mount Washington, know one knows barley anything about each other except the
little things, like the things they put on "The List".
